I have a 4506 with a SupV E. It has 2 10 GE ports, 4 1 G ports.
I'm trying to use the first Gig ports (Gi1/3) to trunk. But the two switches don't see each other.
On the 4506, "sh interface status" gives the port's status as "inactive". That's new to me, and in searching about, all I could find is that when you have redundant Sups, only 1st port on each sup is active - the others are inactive.
But this is not a redundant setup. What do I do to make the desired port active so I can use it to trunk?
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
