interVLAN routing

What all is necessary to enable ip routing for multiple VLANs using only one layer 2 switch and one layer 3 switch?

No matter how I do it I seem to be missing a piece...

Re: interVLAN routing

Hi ,

1. create Vlan's on L3.

2.Create one Vlan i.e native vlan on L2 switch which is same as that of vlan created on L3.

3.Make a trunk link b/n switches.

4.Assign vlans to port on L2 accroding to your requirement.

Thanks,

satish

Re: interVLAN routing

Hi

I would suggest you to create vlans on L3 switch, create it as vtp server and make L2 vtp client. Then create a trunk between them and let the vlans replicate to L2 switch.

Then just give "ip routing" on L3, give Ips on all the VLANs.

Make sure that you have at least one port on L2 assigned to all the vlans you want to work with.

Pls visit the following link. Its very much close to your problem.

Hope that will help.Do shoot back if u have any prob.

Regards

You can look at http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk389/tk815/technologies_configuration_example09186a008015f17a.shtml

It's an example configuration using a L3 switch and 2 L2 switches.
