IOS Deleted from a WS-C2948G

Hi All,

I deleted the IOS from the bootflash: thinking i was going to be able to load one from xmodem or tftp via rommon. I have tried for a while now with no luck..im begining to think its not possible in this platform? Can someone please help, thanks!!!

Hi Friend,

You can use Xmodem/TFTP from rommon to recover the switch. Here is a document with the procedure listed.

I've had to do this once. The procedure was a bit misleading. Here's what I learned:

First on the switch type:

switch: copy xmodem: flash:xxxIOSxxxx.bin

You'll see something like:

CCC..............

(This has now become "Beat the Clock")

Now in Hyperterminal execute the file transfer from the send..... menu.
