IOS proxy server !

Hi all. I have a firewall that serves as a proxy server. We want to use cisco router as a backup proxy server in such a way that we dont need to make any changes on the employees settings !!. When firewall goes down is there any such setting that will now make ios router as a proxy server. i know there is something called auth proxy but in that case i need to tell every one (more then 100 users) their username/password. Is there anyother way, my research says that IOs doesnt provide any such facility !!

Any ideas ?

are you crazy?

routers are for routing

I would use a windows server with isa or something like that as a backup plan.

But they perform VOIP, they perform IPS functions, they perform Firewall functions, they perform switching..

So any ideas pls ?

Of course they do many wonderful things but just because you can does not mean you should!

Dear Darkbeatzz, i really appreciate your feedback, dont take it harsh but i am looking for a better answer :-)

Kindly dont reply since there is no point, i just want to know that is it possible in IOS or not !!

Dear Sushil, thanks for the feedback. I have gone through this link thats why i said i knew about http auth proxy. This is not what i want since it will involve user interaction. I want that in case of my firewall fails (proxy server) then IOS takes its place without users knowing it.

Is it possible ?

I am Sorry, not sure on this.
