IOS support on IEEE 802.1e-1994 (System Load Protocol)
We have a customer currently usign a number of Alcatel XYLAN Omniswitch Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches, and 3Com Hubs, and we would like to move them to a Cisco platform, more specifically Cisco Catalysts 3560s and 3750s. The customer currently has a number of Point-of-Sales and a server running IEEE 802.1e-1994 System Load Protocol as some sort of boot loader for the POS machines. I would like to know if the Cisco Catalysts will support this type of communication and what configuration is necessary to enable this, if any. I don't have access to customer's current Alcatel switch or 3Com hub configurations to check what is currently configured unfortunately, fyi.
