Looks like you didn't have a good path to the server or you didn't unlock the file ont he server .

using the same method, it's successful for others router. the path is correct. what's your mean unlock.

i ping the router when copy tftp flash, the connection then down. what's cause it's down?

thanks!

Andriy makes a very good point here. On the 2500 routers flash is normally read-only as the architecture of the 2500 is that it is a run from flash machine. To upgrade IOS the 2500 needs to run the mini IOS that is ROM based so that flash will be read-write. Flash Load Helper (FLH) was implemented to do this so that you do not need to manually boot to ROM etc.

In the ROM based IOS the router is acting as an IP host and does not run any routing protocols. If the TFTP server is not locally connected it becomes necessary to configure the default-gateway command to enable the 2500 to reach remote destinations.

Try configuring the 2500 with default-gateway pointing at the next hop toward the TFTP server and let us know if it works then.

Hi Rick,

it should be FLH problem.

I go to mini IOS (0x2101) first, then upgrade the IOS, it's successful.

thanks!
