Hello,

I have uploaded a new firmware on my Cisco 2960 switch and reloaded the config, but it is still using c2960-lanbasek9-mz.122-44.SE6 and not c2960-lanbasek9-mz.122-55.SE.bin

Here is my flash

Directory of flash:/

    2  -rwx     9771439   Mar 1 1993 23:21:00 +00:00  c2960-lanbasek9-mz.122-55.SE.bin

Can I set the IOS to boot from or should I just delete the old IOS?

Thanks

Delete the one that you do not want to use, then it will load the one you want to

Probably the config register is set to just load the first one it finds in flash.  If you want to have 2 images in flash then you would have to change that to 0x2102 and then add a boot statement pointing to the new image .  A show version will show you the config register setting.

Andy,

You can keep both images and set the IOS you want switch to boot. If you issue 'Show boot', you should see current settings. Later use

config t

boot system flash:

commands to set the IOS you want the switch to boot from.
