ip dhcp snooping limit rate command

Hi ever body!

The command " ip dhcp snooping limit rate" sets the number of dhcp request that can be received in a second.

what happens if the rate exceeds the configured rate?

Is this command only valid for untrusted port?

Thanks a lot!

Re: ip dhcp snooping limit rate command

According to this doc on 3750s:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3750/software/release/12.2_35_se/configuration/guide/swdhcp82.html#wp1070843

It can rate limit both trusted and untrusted interfaces. You will want a higher rate on trusted interfaces since they are usually an aggregate of DHCP traffic facing the dhcp server.

Exceeded traffic dropped, you can see it in 'show ip dhcp snooping statistics detail'
