ip nat translation problem on ios

Hi,

i have a router with nat overload configurated on the outiside interface. But after a few time, connectivity to outside is lost but can be reactivated with clear ip nat translation *.

I have the following in show ip nat translation before the clear :

udp 1.1.1.1:33301 10.0.0.201:33301 8.16.31.6:53 8.16.31.6:53

udp 1.1.1.1:33302 10.0.0.201:33302 8.16.31.6:53 8.16.31.6:53

icmp 1.1.1.1:7941 10.0.0.201:1410342661 8.16.31.5:1 8.16.31.5:7941

icmperr 1.1.1.1 10.0.0.201 --- ---

tcp 1.1.1.1:1151 10.0.1.211:1151 6.233.183.109:995 6.233.183.109:995

tcp 1.1.1.1:1244 10.0.1.211:1244 8.193.241.171:3126 8.193.241.171:3126

tcp 1.1.1.1:1262 10.0.1.211:1262 8.193.241.171:3126 8.193.241.171:3126

is the icmperr normal ? and the port number for icmp translation look strange too (so high??)...

i use a 1841 router with 12.4(1a) ios.

and the partial config is like

ip nat inside source route-map route-map-nat interface FastEthernet0/0.2347 overload

access-list 104 deny ip 10.0.0.0 0.0.1.255 10.0.0.0 0.255.255.255

access-list 104 permit ip 10.0.0.0 0.0.1.255 any

!

route-map route-map-nat permit 1

match ip address 104

any help ?

Thanks,

Re: ip nat translation problem on ios

I checked your IOS on CCO. It has at least one serious software defect. Before spending more time on this, I suggest that you upgrade your IOS to start with. It is a likely explanation for the portnumber (max 65535) that you noticed.
