I'm trying to use a tracked object to monitor the availability of a route. At this point I'm just testing this functionality, but I would eventually like to use this tracking feature for HSRP. In this case 10.1.1.0/24
The platform is 3550-24-EMI Version 12.2(44)SE2
track 100 ip route 10.1.1.0 255.255.255.0 reachability
IP route 10.1.1.0 255.255.255.0 reachability
Reachability is Down (no route)
1 change, last change 02:55:07
First-hop interface is unknown
Show ip route 10.1.1.0:
#show ip route 10.1.1.0
Routing entry for 10.1.1.0/24
Known via "connected", distance 0, metric 0 (connected, via interface)
Redistributing via eigrp 10
Routing Descriptor Blocks:
* directly connected, via Vlan1
Route metric is 0, traffic share count is 1
I was maybe thinking it wasn't working because the route is directly attached.... so i tried the same config with 10.195.195.0/24 (I put in some fake routes for it). The routes show up in the routing table, however the tracking doesn't work. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
