%IP-SW1-4-DUPADDR: Duplicate address on GLBP

I have two VSS 6513 switches connected on a port channel.

Many Vlans are running GLBP on the two core switches and operational normally.

I have only one vlan (600) having the following issue: the second Core switch is reporting the following error each 30 seconds:

%IP-SW1-4-DUPADDR: Duplicate address 10.155.63.254 on Vlan600, sourced by 0007.b402.5901

this mac when tracing it, is the mac address on the first core switch associated with Vlan 600 !!

I have two groups running on the same interface vlan 600 as the following configuration :

Core-A:

interface Vlan600

description FW_MAIN_10.155.160

ip address 10.155.63.251 255.255.252.0 secondary

ip address 10.155.163.251 255.255.252.0

no ip redirects

glbp 600 ip 10.155.163.254

glbp 600 priority 150

glbp 600 preempt

glbp 600 load-balancing host-dependent

glbp 601 ip 10.155.63.254

glbp 601 priority 150

glbp 601 preempt

glbp 601 load-balancing host-dependent

arp timeout 300

end

Core-B:

interface Vlan600
description FW_MAIN_10.155.160
ip address 10.155.63.252 255.255.252.0 secondary
ip address 10.155.163.252 255.255.252.0
no ip redirects
glbp 600 ip 10.155.163.254
glbp 600 load-balancing host-dependent
glbp 601 ip 10.155.63.254
glbp 601 load-balancing host-dependent
arp timeout 300
end

Error is showing only on one group 601

I tried finding any loop but it seems to be no loop on this vlan and Core-A is the root for all vlans !!

Any idea ?!

%IP-SW1-4-DUPADDR: Duplicate address on GLBP

One of the benefits of VSS is that you don't no longer need to run GLBP, VRRP, HSRP, etc...

Both switches are logically one and if one fails the other one with take over.  So, you are configuring one switch and not two.

%IP-SW1-4-DUPADDR: Duplicate address on GLBP

Hi Reza,

the Glbp between two different VSS not on the same VSS switches !

So I have one VSS running the Glbp and other VSS running the Glbp also, so it is redundant between two different entities.
