Ip unnumbered

Hi, I'm having a problem that I can't seem to figure out. I have 2 interfaces on a router that are configured for trunks for vlan 10. both have ip unnumbered pointing to a loopback interface. i have 2 switches connecting to the router, one on each of the 2 ports. ips configured for int vlan 10 are the on the same subnet as the loopback for the router. I cannot ping from switch to switch or even from switch to loopback interface. the switch connections to the router have been trunked as well.

What am I missing?

Also a side question, will the below work?

Gig0/1.10

encap dot1q 10

ip addr 10.1.1.1 255.255.255.252

Gig0/2.10

encap dot1q 10

ip unnumbered Gig0/1.10

Thanks in advance.
