Hi,

4500 supports IPv4/IPv6 dual stack with 12.2(52)SG with Sup6E (SUP6E supports IPv6 in HW, SUP IV in SW)

Cisco Catalyst 4500 Series Switches support a broad range of IPv6 functionalities. Primary IPv6 features available on Cisco Catalyst 4500 switches prior to 12.2(52) SG include:

• IPv6 unicast routing: RIPng, EIGRPv6, OSPFv3, multiprotocol BGP extension for IPv6

• IPv6 multicast: PIM-SM, PIM-SSM, IPv6 BSR, MLD snooping

• Network management: SNMP, syslog over IPv6, ICMPv6

• DHCP relay agent for IPv6

With the above features and hardware forwarding capability on Supervisor Engine WS-X45-SUP6-E, Cisco Catalyst 4500 Series Switches have become one leading platform to enable IPv6 adoption on enterprise campuses and dual-stack IPv4 and IPv6 deployments.
Primary IPv6 enhancements in Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(52) SG include:

• IPv6 licensing parity with IPv4: customers no longer have to pay additional software license to get IPv6 functionality

• Enhanced network resiliency with HSRPv6

• Simplified auto configuration for end host through DHCPv6 relay agent enhancement
