I am looking for suggestions on training classes and documentation (books, web pages, etc.) on designing, deploying, and maintaining IS-IS.
Thanks in advance

Hi Matthew,
I can recommend you 2 books concerning Integrated IS-IS, both are from Ciscopress:
1. For introductory learning about IS-IS:
Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks (BSCI) Authorized Self-Study Guide.
This book has some basic practical configuration examples at the end of the chapter.
2. For more advanced learning:
Routing TCP/IP Volume I.
This book has some case studies and configuration excercises as well.
For practical studies, the best I can suggest you is having a set of (at least) small-scale routers.
Nothing can replace working on live routers.
Cheers:
