ISSU for 3850 stack

Hi,

I've found somewhere that devices that support SSO/NSF should also receive ISSU support.

Anybody have any idea if the 3850 switch will be on the receiving end of such a feature ?

K-1 already has nonstop-upgrade support for their equivalent switch stacks (must be same OS release though, so not really non-stop) and i find that in today's world, layer 3 stacks without downtime during upgrade are mandatory.

I would really like to see a 3850 stack able to perform updates/upgrades without downtime.

Hi,

Yes, I've seen some slides regarding roadmap for 3650/3850. It mentions ISSU, targeted for H1CY14.
But I wouldn't Believe it until I see it :)

Hi,

ISSU is mainly used on the 6500 and 4500 series (VSS) switches and is not supported on smaller switches like 3850s or 3750 switches even when they are stacked.  Yes, it would nice to see it in all stack able switches.

3850's support ISSU today. Cisco is holding out on us because of the new wireless features of the devices not being compatible yet and if ever with this feature. We are big boys Cisco please allow the ISSU functionality we can figure out on our own if we are using the wireless features or not. There may also be some hold back on the feature just because it is a more entry level product, but it could be a differentiator or reason to buy because more and more customers require more redundancy/resiliency in their network.

Thanks!
