We are deploying a a VXLAN on my network consisting of several Nexus 5K all L2 and a 6509 core L3. It appears that I'm going to have to deploy Jumbo frames to allow for the lager required MTU size. We are deploying the VXLAN on a single vlan. There doesn't seem to be a way to deploy just Jumbo frames for a single VLAN.
On the Nexus its a global configuration, the 6500's a per interface configuration. Obviously there is no way for the WAN link to support this.
I need some help with the Jumbo frame deployment. And I need to do this fast. What are some of the things to consider? do i have to enable on all intefaces on the 6500? layer 2 and 3.
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
