L2 & L3 on the same interface

Hello all,

We have a 2950 (SW1) connected via a L2 trunk to a 3750 (SW2) which has a L3 link with another 3750 (SW3) which in turn has a L2 trunk to another 2950 (SW4)

The issue is that we have a PC on SW1 that needs to participate in the same Vlan as another PC on SW4. Can we configure a port switchport trunk on a port that is currentlly used for L3 between SW2 & SW3 without disrupting the L3 traffic ?

Thanks

Ron

If I understand your post correctly the interfaces that connect SW2 and SW3 are configured as layer 3 routed interfaces. If that is true then I believe that you can not also configure those interfaces as a trunk. You would need separate interfaces to trunk between SW2 and SW3.
