I have a question for you:  If your 9-year old switch keeps crashing, then WHY are you still using the same IOS?

Upgrade the IOS of your switch to 12.2 range.

Similar to Leo, for such an old switch, I would probably upgrade to the last IOS version for it.

However, if you didn't want to do that, at the very least, I would consider upgrading to the last IOS patch version within the same software train.  "EA1a" is likely an early release.

Hi,

I would agree with Leo's comment, this switch is not longer supported by Cisco and the IOS you are running on that box is deferred ever since several years ago, the best option will be to upgrade to a supported image and see if the same problem continues.

Regards,
