Which command is the most ideal one to identify a switch as L3?

If it accepts the command "ip routing".

do "show version" look for keywords such as "Running Standard Image" = Layer 2 Only "Enhanced Image" = Layer 3... or on 3550/3560s, it will say "Running Layer2/3 Switching Image".
