LAN QoS

Hi All,

We have the attached architecture(2 C6513 with several C3560 on floors) and as the customer needs to implement Alcatel Voip platform with Qos over the LAN, I want to know wich config I need.I generated autoqos voip trust (Ip phones tag with DSCP46) :

-Do I have to add autoqos on all ports(access+trunks) on each 3560+ priority-queue out command ?

-is it necessary to add something on Core switches?

-I also needs Qos for outbound Voip calls to a second site(a layer 3 port connected to metro fiber) , must I use autoqos too or MQC on 6500 ?!

Hello Tarik,

you should enable autoqos trust voip on all access ports.

on trunk ports both on the C3560 and on the 6513 you will declare the ports trusted to accept the CoS settings.

You can probably use the command autoqos trust voip also on C3560 uplinks.

show auto qos interface interface-id

will tell you need if you need to enable the priority queue out manually.

I would use MQC on the C6500 to trust links from C3560s.

The L3 link probably cannot be managed with autoqos and you need to use class maps and policy maps (MQC indeed)
