LAN swtiched

I have many switches of various types. I would like to reduce the number of VLAN per switch.

1) Use switchport Trunk Vlan allowed...

2) Change VTP to transparent mode. Can this be done while the switch in production?

Are there other ways to reduce the number of VLANs on a switch.

Thank you for your time in advance

Re: LAN swtiched

Hi ,

Yes , you are correct. You can reduce the number of vlans in a switch using "switchport trunk allowed vlan"" command. It enables the switch to free up lots of resources, including memory.

Thanks,

satish
