Could anyone clarify my doubt. My doubt is while we configuring serial interface for wan connection we use encapsulation method .What is the use of it?.why we don't use encapsulation command in ethernet interface?
Because with serial link you can use multiple encapsulation types such as HDLC/PPP/ATM etc. whereas an ethernet interface only support ethernet encapsulation.
