Hi ,
Can someone help me to understand how to limit traffic in 4500 Switch, we got an MPLS link from the provider (20 MB) , the provider charge huge amount if traffic crosses 20 mb (Burst Traffic).
1) how can I limit traffic bothside ( in and out ) , I have the config for out , or is there any other way to do it .
Core (config) # policy-map policy1
Core (config) #class 20MB
Core (config) #shape average 2560000 // limiting to 2560kbps for testing
Core (config) #exit
Core (config) # interface gig 5/48
Core (config) #service-policy output policy1
Core (config) #end
* gig 5/48 is a layer 2 vlan connected to mpls cisco router.

Best way to achieve this, use "rate-limit" to limit the traffic upto specified bandwidth.
Please check below link that might help you to find your commands--
