We are facing the following problem. We have a gigabit/optical port on which we want to limit traffic. The port is configured as switchport. The only option about speed is "speed nonenegotiate". What can be a work around to this problem?
Thanks in advance,
Katerina

If you could upgrade your IOS to 12.2(25) or later, I believe you could use the "srr-queue bandwidth" command at the interface level.
Otherwise I believe it is necessary to use QoS/CoS features as described here: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps700/products_tech_note09186a008015bf98.shtml
Hope this helps.

Thank you all for your interesting links. I will have a look and hopefully find the solution. The thing is that since the switch is very critical and it's difficult to reload, upgrading the IOS is out of the question. So I have I find a solution in the links.
Thnx,
Katerina
