LLQ / CBWFQ on 3550 switch

Hi,

We are trying to configure QoS on 3550 switch L3 interfaces.

The IOS running is c3550-ipservices-mz.122-25.SEE2.bin

We are facing the following problem

1. Trying to configure Policy-Map and Class-Map

2. Under Policy-Map when getting into Class-Map config mode, we are not getting any command option as bandwidth or Priority. Only the following options are seen under class-map config mode.

police

set

trust

Can somebody tell us what could be the problem?

Regards

Sebastian

Re: LLQ / CBWFQ on 3550 switch

Hi,

all the options you have are described in "Configuring QoS" from "Catalyst 3550 Multilayer Switch Software Configuration Guide, Rel. 12.2(25)SE"

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps646/products_configuration_guide_chapter09186a00802cb831.html

It tells you, that queueing is configured quite different to a router. The commands for queueing in the 3550 start with "wrr-queue..." and are configured on an interface basis.

So your "problem" is a different QoS implementations on Catalyst switches compared to routers.

Hope this helps! Please use the rating system.

Regards, Martin
