Load balance

guys just a quick one....if two swicthes are connected 3550 and 3560 and if we want to do load blance....port channel.....correct me if i am wrong on 3550 pot-channel loadbalance src-mac is on by default and on 3560 its off.....so if we want to do th eload balance what will b ethe command i have seen port channel loadbalance src-des-ip.....do it make any scence as on 3550 its des-mac an dhere its src....will that work???? what the trick to learn this thing...how we do it....thanks guys

Hello Khan,

each side of the port-channel can use a different load-balancing algorythm they don't need to match.

Then depending on the traffic patterns the criteria that is able to distribute flows over the member links in the best way is to be used.

There are some cases where different criteria have to be used on the two sides to optimize load balancing.
