Load Balancing

Two Switch Catalyst 2960G, several Servers each with 2 NICs.

To improve the Hight-Availability I plan to connect the NICs of each Server one on each Catalyst.

The question is: on the Server I can configure the NICs only "active/Standby"; it is no way to have both active with "Load Balancing"?

As far as I know, this is possible only with the stackable 3750 - is it right?

You need to team the network adapters, and then patch them into 2 interfaces on the same switch bundled in a port channel using 'mode active' or 'mode on'.

If you want each network adapter to patch in to a different switch then you are correct in saying they will have to be stackable.

Basic guide to etherchannel switch to server config:

Hope that helps.
