Loading Config - Flash Card

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know the command to load a config from flash as opposed to nvram? Also, is it possible to create an empty flash file, edit the file with the config (copy/paste) and save it? Just wondering if tftp is the only method of building/transferring files to the flash card.

Thanks

Hi Dan

The command to load a config from the flash is 'boot config'. However, it may not work on all platforms. Which device do you want to use it on?

Yes, if you want to copy a new configuration file onto the flash then tftp, ftp, RCP (I have never tried it) are your only options. You can view a file stored in flash using the following command but can not edit it:

router#more flash:

HTH
