Dear experts!

I have a Catalyst2924XL switch that appeared following log message.

=========================================

00:14:59: %RTD-1-ADDR_FLAP: FastEthernet0/1 relearning 6 addrs per min

00:15:59: %RTD-1-ADDR_FLAP: FastEthernet0/1 relearning 28 addrs per min

00:16:59: %RTD-1-ADDR_FLAP: FastEthernet0/1 relearning 19 addrs per min

00:17:59: %RTD-1-ADDR_FLAP: FastEthernet0/1 relearning 28 addrs per min=========================================

And then it goes up and down repeatly it self.SO I did replace to the Catalyst2950 Switch and then this log did not appeared any more.

I find cisco web page about this issue

it said that this log only appeared Catalyst3500XL,2924XL switch.

Does anyone know that why it appered this log and olny XL series swich have this log.

And Why it happend this log?

switch loop or H/W fail?

I`ll be wating for your reply!

Thanks

Hi,

I think you have a bridging loop. You may have a redundant connection and misconfigured spanning-tree. Check your cabling and spanning-tree configuration.

Refer to this document http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/473/131.html

Why it happen only to XL Series switch? This depends on the switch architecture which only Cisco XL Series Switch R&D guys can answer :)

Dandy
