okay, stupid question:
i've noticed on acouple routers that when i do a "sh logg" the timestamps are way off or in military time.
is there a way to change the timestamps to reflect the router's time?

You need the following:
service timestamps debug datetime localtime show-timezone
service timestamps log datetime localtime show-timezone
And then, this is the time/date settings for Australia. Choose how you see fit:
clock timezone AEST 10
clock summer-time AEDST recurring 1 Sun Oct 2:00 1 Sun Apr 2:00
Syntax:
clock timezone WORD
clock summer-time WORD recurring ?
Hope this helps.
