Loosing connectivity on switch ports - possible spanning tree issue
We have a remote site connected back via fiber to the main building. They have a S8300 Avaya IP phone switch that supports their phones. The s8300 is connected to the main building's S8700 ip phone swith. The S8700 is the main phone switch. When the drop in connectivity occurs the S8300 goes into LSP mode. I think that we have an issue with either BPDU guard causing the lose in connectivity or spanning tree. We removed the loopguard to all ports. Thank you.

I think during the spanning tree process, all ports will experience a delay in activation, as the switch will not run spanning tree against a port until the link becomes active.The Spanning Tree Algorithym (STA) takes approx. 15-30 seconds to go from the initial state of disabled/blocking, to listening, then learning, and finally to forwarding. As the switch determines the spanning-tree topology, the switch will not accept nor forward any packets to and from the port. This delay is to insure the switch has sufficient time to learn the spanning-tree topology.
