Hi there,
I need to implement simple MAC address filtering on an 877. I have a config from an 837 where it used a bridged interface BVI and attached a MAC filter to it. It then assigned the ethernet0 interface to brige group 1.
The 877's have a VLAN interface rather than an ethernet0 interface. I tried doing something similar where I created a bridge group 1 and assigned the MAC access list to the BVI1 interface. I then assigned VLAN 1 to bridge group 1 but it did not seem to work.
Anyone know how to do this? Can it be done more simply?
thanks

Try configuring an access-list to allow the MAC address of the Vlan1 interface. Then, to implement mac-address filtering create a bridge-group and BVI that is tied to it, then assign interface vlan 1 to that bridge group and apply the bridge group ACL to interface vlan 1.
