Management Cluster Problems

Hi,

We sometimes use the management cluster feature on Cisco switches to manage devices.

I'm having a problem where when i try to connect to a cluster member nothing happens at all.

For example, I enable clusting on a master with the 'cluster enable temp' command.  Add a member using the 'cluster member mac-address ... password' command

The member gets added ok, but when i enter the rcommand 1 command to connect to the cluster nothing happens, it just returns to the same prompt of the master....  below is an what happens from the command line

Switch(config)#cluster enable testing
Switch(config)#
Switch(config)#do sh clust can
                                                             |---Upstream---|
MAC Address    Name         Device Type      PortIf  FEC Hops SN PortIf  FEC

Any thoughts?

I get the same issue when i use the VLAN command in the cluster member command.

thanks.

Re: Management Cluster Problems

Hello,

Could you please provide the output of the "show run" command for both switches?

Did you try creating the cluster again?

Regards.

Re: Management Cluster Problems

I have a similar problem and I have not been able to fix it... but I have been able to identify a relationship with vty "transport input ssh" and rcommand. When I enable the transport input open to telnet , the rcommand works. This is not practicle for my environment as we moved over to SSH to support security recommendations from the security officer.

Does anyone know how to support rcommand with telnet disabled and SSH enabled.
