Dear Team,

If I am marking my traffic with L2 QOS and sending the marked traffic over the WAN (MPLS Cloud) to the destination, Am I going to get the effect of the marked QOS over the WAN till it reaches the destination.

by the same way if I am enabling the QOS for the traffic from my location WAN router, does this QOS effect exist till it reaches the destination over the WAN.

Regards,

Hi,

You can not be sure what the MPLS carrier company/network
does with its LAYER 2.

You would be far safer to mark your traffic at LAYER3 (DSCP or IP -PREC)
before sending it on to the MPLS.

Hi Alex,

Thanks for the answer, however I need to mark the traffic from the access switch where my server is connected. May I use COS to DSCP mapping and send to over the WAN network till the destination. Will this work???
