Re: Maximum count L3 Interface on C76XX

Hello Dmitri,

in the datasheet this info is not present

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/switches/ps5718/ps708/product_data_sheet09186a0080159856.html

but support for 1024 VRFs can mean at least 4,000 L3 interfaces. But probably is even greater.

Hope to help

Re: Maximum count L3 Interface on C76XX

Hi!

But i found:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk39/tk48/technologies_tech_note09186a00801086c5.shtml

· The Catalyst 6000 Series and Cisco 7600 with FlexWAN uses an architecture that assigns a hidden VLAN for each physical interface and logical subinterface. A maximum of 4096 VLANs limits the total number of subinterfaces to a theoretical maximum of 4096. The IDB limit on the Catalyst 6000 Series and Cisco 7600 is currently limited by the maximum number of IDBs supported, which is 3000.

Re: Maximum count L3 Interface on C76XX

Hello Dmitry,

the IDB limit was the first thing I thought of but I was not sure if this concept applies to multilayer switches too.

I've seen it in action in MPLS TE testing on GSR and C7500 (it was a few years ago)

I just wander if a L2 only Vlan uses an IDB entry or not. It has an SNMP ifindex this is sure.

If it does you need to take care of this.

so you can think of 3000 interfaces and a maximum of 1024 VRFs.

Hope to help

Giuseppe
