Memory stuck for dead process

Hi,

I am getting alerts for router (1800) low on memory.

When checked "sh mem dead" I see a lots of lines for "State Machine Instance" & "SSH Process".

Can we free the memory allocated to thses process. How to prevent this in future.

Re: Memory stuck for dead process

Hi,

You should reload the router to free all this memory during a maintenance windows otherwise the router will do it on its own when it really will go out of memory.

After the reload, if you see the dead memory still increasing, you are facing a memory leak and so should engage the TAC for troubleshooting.

Laurent.
