Minimum Flash requirement

Hi All,

I need to upgrade my 2948G switch from catOD4.5.9 to catOS8.9.x. I have 12M of flash with almost 8MB of available space.

Software advisory reports that catOS8.9.x requires at least 16MB of flash. However, the actual file size of the new image is something around 5MB. So, my question is, do I need to upgrade my flash from 12 to 16 as suggested by the software advisory, which is not possible on that switch model? Or, is it just fine to get the new image of 5MB and put it on the current flash with 8MB of available space? If that's fine, could you also tell me why software advisory suggest having 16MB of flash?

As software advisory suggested you go for 16MB of flash I think it is correct only. 2948G-GE-TX have a minimum Software of 8.2(1)GLX .
