yes we have done it.
the software version needs to be the same.
for instance all switches have 12.2(58)SE2.
only the G switch has ipbase and X switch has universal image.
I don't know about other pre-requisitives but maybe other peeps can say something about that.

What are the flash capacity of all the 3750G in the stack?
If it's 16 Mb flash, then the highest IOS you can load on a 3750G with 16 Mb flash is 12.2(55)SE and later (SE, SE1, SE2, SE3, SE4 and SE5).
You CANNOT and WILL NOT be able to load 12.2(58)SE and 15.0(1)SE on a 3750G with 16 Mb flash.

we have the 64MB version, so no problem there!

Hmmm ... I've never seen a plain 3750/3750G with 64 Mb flash. Must've be a new model.

Have stacked 3750X and 3750V1 using 122-55.SE3 with no issues.

Interesting. Have you used all the same image or different images for 3750G and 3750X but with the same revision#?

It won't make any difference what "revision" number the hardware is. The main rule still applies: Each member of the stack must have the same IOS version and same feature set.

Just wanted to mention when you mix original StackWise with StackWisePlus, StackWisePlus falls back to StackWise mode. I.e. you lose some of the "Plus" features.
