Monitoring traffic going through a router as troubleshooting tool..

Hello All, I would like to monitor traffic traversing a router, in the same manner that I can see connections on a Pix firewall with "show connection" command.

Is it possible on cisco routers?

The "show connection" command on a PIX shows realtime UDP and TCP connections that are built by the firewall..

This is an example of the output of the command - http://www.iphelp.ru/faq/39/ch24lev1sec2.html#ch24list11

If the router is running NAT than you can use "show ip nat translations". You could also use NBAR and/or netflow to monitor traffic ports and protocols.

HTH and please rate.

Dmitry, use netflow for this.
