MPLS on Sup720-BASE?

Is it possible for a WS-SUP720-BASE to support MPLS assuming native IOS > 12.2.18SX?

Current sales charts only seem to suggest 720-3B and up.

This would only support up to 10-12 separate MPLS "VPN" networks.

Re: MPLS on Sup720-BASE?

Hello Robert,

the answer should be no: MPLS is not supported, but you could try to see if it can be a multiVRF CE: if it supports VRFs but not MPLS forwarding you can connect it via 802.1Q trunk with another router that will act as the PE with back to back logical links one for each VRF.

Hope to help

Giuseppe
