MQC LLC QOS not working with WS-X6704-10GE

I have a site trying to do the following:

service-policy output voip

and receives the following error:

priority command is not supported in output direction for this interface

I found that the WS-X6704-10GE doesn't support "priority" queueing. So, what line cards will support priority queueing on a CAT 6509? Or is there another way to configure?

Ah okay. You can't use the MQC LLC priority command set because you don't use MQC commands for egress queueing on catalyst switches.

The 6704-10GE does have a priority queue which you can use for priority traffic for voice etc. but you don't configure it with the priority command. You need to set up which CoS/Dscp values go to which queue and how much bandwidth each queue gets.

Attached is a link to QOS config on 6500 with an example including a priority queue -

"I found that the WS-X6704-10GE doesn't support "priority" queueing."

Where did you find confirmation of this because these 2 docs suggest that the 6704-10GE has a TX queue system of 1p7q8t -

Jon,

I googled it and found the following information:

> priority command is not supported in output direction for this interface

> Configuration failed!

Yup! It did! ..and it will on ws-x65xx, 67xx, and 68xx cards. You need

OSM, SIP/SPA, or 20G line cards for MQC LLQ (low latency queuing, aka.

'priority' in the policy-map) to work.

So, I went from that information. If I am wrong about this, then why am I getting the "not supported" error?
