multicast blocking and 2960

Hello,

Is it possible to block the multicast comming from the heartbeat of FW's on some ports of a 2960 with an access list?

We have an issue with equipment that is sensible of the multicast traffic, and i would like to block it on these connections

i think you could not block ip multicast with l2 switch.

Hi PETER,

Do you want to filter Mcast packets to forward out to the sensitive host on a particular port?

What about this command?

int g0/1

switchport block multicast

Not sure about that. It's well worth to try.
