We have an IBM cluster that reside on the same vlan and communicate thru multicast staggered across 2 separate switches. 2 of the switches are CatOS and one is IOS. However, the IOS switch doesn't pass the multicast traffic over its primary portchannel trunk to the Root Switch. IGMP snooping is enabled on all three switches. Any ideas?

What type & software versions do you use?
Could we have a look at the configs?

Hi,
You should either disable IGMP snooping or configure L3 interface (which would be the querier) for this VLAN.

Jeff

Thx Jeff, I'll try disabling the igmp snooping first should i do it to all 3 switches or just the one local? I checked our IOS configs as well for igmp querier and didn't seem to have that option available is it possibly my code 12.2(18)SXE1 or am i missing something?
