multicast routing

Hello

I have to configure multicast routing for an application. Now I have a router 4506E and a cisco switch 2960 (multicast server) and a cisco switch 2950 (multicast client. I have enabled multicast routing on the 4506E and configured pim mode on the both interfaces. Which configuration did I forget, because the application is not running. Thank you for your help.

Hello Daniel,

if you are using PIM sparse mode you need to configure the 4506E as the RP.

if you are using ip pim dense-mode it should work unless it fails the reverse path forwarding check.

Can you post the output of "show igmp interface" and "show igmp groups"?

Also, enable "debug ip igmp" on the Catakyst 4506E and check if the client application is asking to join the multicast group (on which the multicast server is multicasting).
