Hi !
I would like to know if we have more then one router is annoncing it self as an rp-candidate for the same group of multicast group which one will be choosen by receiver ? is the router to which receiver as the lower cost too ? the source to which have the lower cost to ? higher or lower router IP address within it's annoncement ?
what is the selection process exactly !

Hi,
If multiple ip pim rp-address commands are configured, the following rules apply:
•Highest RP IP address selected regardless of reachability: If a multicast group is matched by the access list of more than one configured ip pim rp-address command, then the RP for the group is determined by the RP with the highest RP address configured.

As Riza mentioned, the RP with the highest IP address is elected as an RP candidiate for that Group.
