Multiple vlans with single HSRP instance

HI all,

Can anyone please explain what will be effect configuration of multiple vlans with a single HSRP instance ??

will it be better than separate HSRP instance for separate vlans ? In terms of CPU usage which method  is better ??

Hi,

How are you planning to do that?  You can't have multiple subnets an the same SVI unless you are planning to use secondary addresses.  Best practice is to use one HSRP id per vlan.

Can you please clarify one doubt?

My hardware supports only 256 hsrp groups but i have 400 vlan which need to be configured on hsrp ?

So if i am using multiple vlans in a same hsrp group is it possible for me to configure hsrp for all interface vlans ??

wiil it create hevay load CPU ???

and onr more thing

Is it possiblr to configure multiple VLANS with single instance of GLBP ??
