N2248TP-E vs N2248TP

                   Hi,

I noticed for both N2K models same price. However the E variant (enhanced) has bigger buffer  size (SAN, big data).

Why should I still quote the N2248TP if I can buy the E for the same price with better specs. Or in other words, are there also drawbacks on the E variant?

Hi,

Edit: on the other hand, why a 3 years old post will pop-up on my Cisco Support Community Dashboard :D

Hi,

Buy the N2248TP only if you need some strange backward compatibility with NX-OS pre-5.1(3)N(1)1 on N5K or 6.1(1) on N6K.

Another difference is that N2248TP goes only 3 km while N2248TP-E supports 10 km distance from the parent N5K / N6K switch. Anyway, this should not force a buy in of N2248TP :)

I could not find anything else different:
