Re: name definition - Cat6500

When I define ACLs using name definition in CAT6500 it is accepted. However, when I do 'show run' to view the ACL it shows the actual IPs of the hosts and not the names.

Is it possible to show host names in ACL of CAT6500 configuration.

Regards.

Re: name definition - Cat6500

I'm afraid not.

When you enter the name, the device will automatically query the name to a DNS or internal host entry and transform it into an IP address format.

This is true in IOS on routers as well, not just Cat6k.
