Need advice on creating failover for 0.0.0.0

I've got a standard pair of Cat 6500s w/ HSRP in my core, running OSPF. We're about to connect to a satellite campus over a routed connection (running over DWDM). The topology is a pretty basic collapsed core design with our closet switches running straight into the core 6500s. There's a FW and one border router in front of the core 6500s switches. Best way to provide resilience for 0.0.0.0? Floating static pointing to the satellite site? The satellite site has similar topology and similar internet bandwidth capacity.

If we knew a bit more about your environment then we might be able to give you better answers:

- does the DWDM connect to the core 6500s?

- will you be running OSPF over the DWDM? If so will OSPF treat your site and the satellite campus as a single unified routing domain or will it attempt to keep the satellite campus as a separate routing domain (external to your site)?

- do the 6500s run a routing protocol with the border router? (are they learning a default route from the border router?)

- for the satellite campus would these questions get the same answers?

If you can provide more information we may be able to formulate better advice.
