Hi Vishal,
Are you looking for a command similar to show cdp neighbor?
I used the next method to define a device that is connected to a router.
I run the show arp command.
Then I locate the MAC address of the IP attached to the connected device which I am looking for.
Lets assume that the MAC is 13:44:3A:34:24:1B
The first three bytes correspond to the OUI address and is unique for every device.
Then you can use the next link to find the type of a device, could be e.g. a Dell server etc

Hope that helps!

Hi Vishal,
you could use the show lldp command. It is the kind of works like cdp, but on non Cisco devices. No give it a try.
Try this link out

LLDP will only work if the other devices are setup to use it. I don't think I have seen anywhere yet that actually uses it .

Hi,
I use a lot of HP switches and other vendor equipment. Just like cisco has cdp enabled by default, they too have it enabled. I might be wrong, but in the long run, its worth a shot. Besides Cisco too has lldp enabled on most devices by default.
